Our personal trainers are certified through national YMCA programs in Healthy Lifestyle Principles, Foundations of Strength & Conditioning, CPR, AED, O2 and Motivational Interviewing. Many YMCA trainers specialize in several areas and hold multiple national certifications. Check with your Y’s fitness director to find the right trainer qualified to help with your specific needs.
Our Group Exercise Instructors are certified through national YMCA programs in Healthy Lifestyle Principles, Foundations of Strength & Conditioning, CPR, AED, and any specialized area in which they teach. These specialized certifications include Cardio & Step, Group Cycle, Water Fitness, Pilates, Yoga, and ZUMBA.
These specialized personal trainers are degreed professionals nationally certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). ACSM is often referred to as the "gold standard of certifications" and these trainers are capable of designing programs for preventive health care, for those dealing with medical risk factors or those reconditioning following surgery or injury.
The Y is the region's largest provider of child care and camp services, offering programs for ages 2 weeks to teens. Our child care staff are caring professionals trained and certified in early childhood care and education. Staff update their skills annually and participate in ongoing professional development to ensure the best quality care possible for your child.
Staff members are certified in CPR, First Aid, Signs & Symptoms of Childhood Illness, as well as Child Abuse Recognition & Reporting to ensure your child's safety.

Our lifeguards are Red Cross-certified and trained in First Aid so you can enjoy a fun, safe experience in YMCA pools. Our lifeguards also hone their skills each year during a citywide lifeguard competition.
