Designed to make scheduled school closures easier for parents and kids, The Greater Wichita YMCA's FUN CLUB day camp programs offers students - ages 5-12, enrolled in grades K-5 - structured activities in a safe, supervised environment when schools close for a day, a few days, a week, or longer. The program, licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), offers certified, trained, and experienced supervision to ten-or-more participants per site for:
SCHOOL DAY OUT - Day-long camp programs at school sites and branch locations for partner school students, KEY Academy participant or not
BREAK CLUBS - Week-long day camp programs held at Greater Wichita YMCA branch locations open to all 5-12-year-old K-5 students, regardless of school or KEY Academy participation
FUN CLUB (School Day Out or Break Club) is:
Owned, staffed, and operated by the Greater Wichita YMCA with licensed, trained child care providers leading programs at participating schools and/or branch locations (varies by dates and district)
A partnership with six area school districts (see list below) for SCHOOL DAY OUT and open to all students of appropriate age and grade level for BREAK CAMP
Available to children ages 5-12, enrolled in Kindergarten through fifth grade at eligible schools
Open, during service days, from 6:30AM-6PM (unless otherwise indicated - see individual registration forms for dates and times)
Accessible for all with FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE available to those who qualify and third-party payments accepted
Designed to offer a mixture of physical and quiet activities for groups and individuals while offering seasonal themes and ideas for each session
Healthy - a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks is provided to every participant
2019-2020SCHOOL DAY(S) OUTPARTNER DISTRICTS AND SITES
The following is a list of partner school districts and participating elementary schools for the upcoming school year. Find specific dates for each school on the district information sheet (using the tiles below):
Complete a School Day Out and/or Break Club registration form and required KDHE paperwork (must be completed online (link below)) for EACH CHILD and sign the policies and parental information agreement.
Submit your materials IN PERSON at an YMCA Branch Location or MAIL materials (as instructed in Overview Brochure) to our administrative offices before the deadline (as stated in materials)
Do NOT try to enroll in FUN CLUB programs on our website or at a school-based FUN CLUB program site. You must apply as stated above.
Allow for up-to five business days for response from FUN CLUB staff. Regarding participation and/or other information for participation dates (themes, participant needs, etc.).
FUN CLUB staff MUST confirm enrollment and availability (by email) before children will be allowed to participate, without exception. Contact Child Care Accounts to confirm email preferences.
Scheduled dates of available are subject to change based on enrollment. A minimum of 10 (ten) students must be registered for a site to hold their program on that day.
ALL students (if in KEY Academy or not) must be registered at least 7 (seven) days prior to Break Club dates (including the MONDAY Break Clubs start - even for partial week attendance)
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is available and third-party payment is accepted. See policies document for full overview of cost/billing/payment requirements.
ALL required paperwork (enrollment form, KDHE paperwork and support documents, and signed policies/parental information agreement) must be submitted BEFORE any child will be considered for enrolled.
